Random But Relevant

A mix of thoughts, memories, and musings—real moments that give you a better glimpse into who I am, as told through my favorite little rambles.

Cote D’Azur

In the summer of 2023, I had the kind of experience that you daydream about when you’re stuck in traffic or scrolling through Pinterest boards labeled “someday.” I spent two full months living in the South of France—specifically, in Cannes—with my best friend who had temporarily relocated there for work. She was living in this charming little blue apartment tucked into the hills, overlooking the city and the sparkling Mediterranean. The kind of place that made you gasp a little every time you stepped out onto the balcony.

From the moment I arrived, life slowed down in the best way. Our apartment was just a short walk from the beach, a boulangerie, and endless cafés that seemed pulled from a movie. During the weekdays, while my best friend went to work, I settled into a peaceful solo routine that I quickly fell in love with.

Most mornings started with a run along the promenade. The air was warm but breezy, and the views were nothing short of cinematic—palm trees lining the coast, yachts bobbing gently in the harbor, and pastel-colored buildings basking in the sun. Afterward, I’d spend the late morning and early afternoon lounging on the beach. I didn’t bring a beach chair; just a towel, sunscreen, a good book, and a playlist I’d made specifically for my South of France era.

Around lunchtime, I’d wander down the street to a local bakery, a spot I visited so frequently the woman behind the counter began greeting me with a knowing smile. I always got a sandwich—usually jambon-beurre or chicken with aioli on a fresh baguette—and a sparkling water to sip while I sat by the sea. It was simple, but it felt like the height of luxury.

But the real magic happened on the weekends.

We made it our mission to explore as much as we could, starting with Monte Carlo. It was an easy trip from Cannes, and we had a group of friends living there who always welcomed us with open arms and wild plans. We’d bounce from beach clubs to rooftop bars, chasing the sun and the fun all day and night. One of the most unforgettable experiences was F1 weekend in Monaco—a total whirlwind of energy, speed, champagne, and celebrities. We somehow found ourselves in the middle of it all, dancing through the night and soaking in every surreal second.

Another standout weekend was our getaway to St. Tropez, which felt like stepping into a fantasy. The beach clubs there were a whole different world. Think: long lunches that turned into dance parties, tables covered in fresh seafood and bottles of rosé, music vibrating through the sand, and strangers becoming fast friends. We danced until our feet ached, laughed until we couldn’t breathe, and didn’t check our phones once.

Throughout the trip, we met the most interesting people—from locals who shared their favorite hidden beaches, to fellow travelers who joined us for spontaneous dinners. The food was consistently incredible: buttery croissants in the morning, fresh seafood at night, and more gelato than I care to admit.

Looking back, those two months felt like a reset. A love letter to friendship, freedom, and saying yes to adventure. I learned how to slow down, how to savor, and how to let life surprise me.

The South of France gave me memories I’ll keep forever—and a version of myself I want to hold onto, too.

T & R

When my cat Mabel passed away last September, it hit me hard. She had been a huge part of my life, and suddenly everything just felt a little too quiet. I knew at some point I wanted another cat, but I wasn’t in a rush. I figured I’d eventually get a Scottish Fold from a breeder—I’d always loved how quirky and cute they look. But after some serious sticker shock (they’re so expensive), and a little reality check about the number of cats in shelters, I started rethinking the whole thing.

Over the summer, my sister adopted a kitten from a local kill shelter, and she kept nudging me to do the same. For months I kept saying “maybe,” but in January, I finally caved and went to the shelter with her—just to look. That plan lasted all of five seconds.

The second we walked in, I saw them—two tiny kittens curled up next to each other in a crate. One was grey, the other striped. I walked up, and the grey one immediately popped up and ran to the glass, meowing like crazy. His brother stayed back, more cautious, but curious. It was game over.

I asked to hold the grey one, and as soon as I picked him up, he started purring like a motor. Loud enough that everyone in the room could hear. My sister held the striped one, and he started purring too. I hadn’t planned on adopting a cat that day, let alone two—but there was no way I could separate them. So I went to the front desk to start the paperwork.

That’s when one of the shelter workers let me know both kittens had minor disabilities. The grey one had a dwarf paw, and the striped one’s front paws were a little crooked. I didn’t even hesitate. I already knew I wanted them, and that just made me want to give them a good home even more.

Fast forward a few months and I honestly can’t imagine life without Tim (the grey one) and Rex (the striped one). They’re hilarious, affectionate, and both have huge personalities. Tim is bold and loud and will literally meow at you like you’re having a full conversation. Rex is a little more low-key, but super sweet and cuddly once he warms up. Together, they’re total chaos in the best way.

Their disabilities don’t slow them down at all. They run around, play, climb—totally normal kitten stuff. If anything, their little quirks just add to their charm. And honestly, adopting from a shelter felt like the right move. These two needed a home, and they somehow found their way into mine.

They’ve become total lap cats, social with everyone, and they’re constantly making me laugh with their weird habits and kitten zoomies. Having two cats means double the mischief, but also double the entertainment and comfort. I didn’t expect to love it this much, but they’ve added so much fun and energy to my day-to-day.

I didn’t go into that shelter planning to leave with anything—but I left with two new roommates who totally turned things around for me. Adopting Tim and Rex wasn’t some grand plan, but it ended up being the best decision I could’ve made.

My Internship with M.L.

Working at Modern Luxury Media during Art Basel 2024 was, in a word, unforgettable. It was a whirlwind of creativity, logistics, problem-solving, and some serious hustle—all against the backdrop of Miami’s most glamorous week of the year. From high-profile cocktail parties to wellness activations and even a celebrity-filled concert at the Fontainebleau, I had my hands in just about everything. And I loved every second of it.

One of the most exciting events I helped coordinate was Art of the Party—Modern Luxury’s flagship event during Art Basel, hosted at the Fontainebleau. It was one of the most high-profile activations of the week, featuring VIP guests, celebrities, and a surprise performance by Chance the Rapper. I was involved in everything from pre-event planning to final breakdown. I created the mood board that guided the entire event’s aesthetic, packed inventory, handled on-site logistics, managed a 1,000-person guest list, and assisted directly with Chance’s publicist to ensure everything ran smoothly. No pressure, right?

Then came Art of Self Care—a wellness-focused morning event, also at the Fontainebleau. This one was all about thoughtful branding and calm energy. I showed up at 6 AM to lay out 50 yoga mats, build sponsor activations, and set up beverage stations. It was a completely different vibe than the night events, but equally rewarding. Coordinating with sponsors, ensuring a cohesive experience, and troubleshooting last-minute vendor issues gave me a true crash course in brand experience management.

Another favorite was Women in the Arts, where I helped manage everything from floral design to speechwriting, all while making sure our fashion show models stayed on schedule. It was one of those events that reminded me how much I love combining creative energy with high-pressure logistics.

I also worked on the Ultra Padel event, which, while more sport-focused, still had the Modern Luxury polish. I oversaw sponsor activations, directed event flow, and handled guest check-in. And there were plenty of other events—The Miami Art Issue Release Cocktail Party, the Palm Beach Golf Invitational—each with its own tone, challenges, and personality. I learned how to tailor event logistics to match the brand’s voice and how to pivot quickly when things didn’t go as planned (which they often didn’t).

Across all these experiences, the common thread was learning how to execute at a high level under pressure. I mastered real-time communication, VIP guest management, sponsor coordination, and post-event logistics. I problem-solved on the spot, dealt with demanding guests with professionalism, and made sure every activation looked as good as it did on the mood board.

More than anything, this role gave me a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to pull off a large-scale luxury event—and spoiler alert, it’s not as glamorous as it looks on Instagram. But it’s way more rewarding. The constant energy, the chaos, the teamwork, the satisfaction of seeing everything come together—it made me fall even more in love with event production, branding, and experiential marketing.

Working at Modern Luxury taught me that details matter, relationships matter, and being able to think on your feet is invaluable. I left Basel week exhausted but exhilarated—and with a serious boost in confidence. If I can help run a multi-day lineup of luxury events during the busiest week in Miami, I can take on anything.
